Pittsburgh, PA (SportsNetwork.com) – Tony Cingrani tossed six strong innings and Ryan Ludwick hit the go-ahead two-run double in the sixth inning as Cincinnati claimed a 2-1 victory over Pittsburgh in the finale of a four-game series. Cingrani (2-2) gave up a run on six hits with two walks while fanning seven for the Reds, who won the final three games in the set and have taken seven of nine overall. Pedro Alvarez knocked in the lone run of the contest for the Pirates, losers in eight of their last 10. Recalled from Triple-A prior to the contest, Brandon Cumpton (0-1) pitched well in defeat, charged with only four hits and two runs over seven full frames.
