SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) — The U.S. Army base at Fort Hood, Texas has been put on lockdown late Wednesday after reports of a shooting. Fort Hood, on its webpage and its Twitter account, ordered personnel to “shelter in place.” The Bell County Sheriff’s Office told CNN that a “shooting incident” is being handled by the military. Local affiliate KCEN said several injuries have been reported and that a shooter is on the loose. Fort Hood was the site of a shooting in November 5, 2009, when U.S. Army Major Nidal Hasan fatally shot 13 people and wounded more than 30 others.
